HOUSING
by Jessica, Stockholms Universitet, Stockholm, Sweden
Biology, Erasmus
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I wanted to meet English people and I have heard thet university accomodation is often with other international students. And it is a much more free way of living. However I would concider trying to find other students to share a house, could be a nice way to meet new people not necessarily studying the same uni courses although there is alwas the risk that you don't get along.

Personal social experience
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Nightlife: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Activities, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
Definately Monday Nights at the Fruit Cupboard...I will never have an 80s night quite as amazing as those! Also, Tiger Tiger was a really fun club and good atmosphere. Favorite pubs: The Original Oak (great garden) THE LIBRARY (really young and student oriented w/ cheap drinks) and The Box (the most beautiful people at that place!) EXPENSES

The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Family Other sources of funding:
Personal savings Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
I ended up spending more because the exchange rate made it more expensive. Otherwise the actual price tag on items was very similar to the United States. Food, Nightlife, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Overall: was the same price as at home. Travel, Telephone: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Traveling within Europe and the UK was much cheaper than purchasing all of the flights beforehand in the United States. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
I wish that I knew more about my housing. In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
The three architecture courses we had to take were well worth it! Allow either a Friday or Monday off to allow students to travel more. FINAL COMMENTS
My study in Leeds was not necessarily to experience academia, it was more to experience the culture. It was well worth it! Purchase Euro-rail passes prior to leaving the U.S. If flying within the UK/Europe, purchase tickets over there and not in the U.S. Some Cities/Areas worth seeing in England: London, Bath, Trent on Stoke (for pottery shopping), Lake District (beautiful) This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
