Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
While living on campus was an excellent way to interact with new people and make friends, it could be a little restricting at times sharing a room with a stranger. That said, I would probably do it again because it allowed me to get invloved in many more campus activities.

Most central to all university facilities. Also, living on campus works very stimulating academically.

I was placed in the oldest and nicest dorm on campus, which was also very centrally located. Although all rooms were shared, as is standard practice in the US, I had a relatively large room and so still had my own space.

The dorm was the best place to stay on campus. Even though the room isn't too big and I had to share a bathroom with 7 other girls, it was a great place to meet people.

Housing
Type of housing: First on campus, then off.
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
When I lived oncampus I felt cramped, I shared room with one girl and bath with seven others, so I moved off after only one semester and didn't regret it. But it is better to live oncampus if you don't know many people, you make friends faster.

they try to provide you housing as close to the school as possible and you usually live with an American student or with an Asian student. You hardly ever live with another European student.

Fairly good. Disadvatages: kitchens shared by too many residents
