HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Mainly because I would be significantly older than those living on Campus/in the dorms.
Personal comments:
OK accomodation. Pretty much what I'd expected. The best thing was the fact that it was on campus which made it central in relation to the things and people I was interested in. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
Pour Dicks was a good bar in the lower end of the spectrum. Otherwise some of the really good parties were private ones. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. How much did you improve your English?
My level before: No problems in any areas (including slang) My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
Good experience. I had no problems with my English and I also hadn't expected to have any problems. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Government assistance Other sources of funding:
Personal savings Work opportunities:
I didn't want/need to work Personal spending habits:
Being in another country it's only natural that you want to do a number of things that you don't do at home - and they usually cost. Especially travelling cost a lot of money, but it was worth every dollar. Travel, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Food, Nightlife: was the same price as at home. Telephone: was less expensive than at home.

OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
I would have liked to have had more information about the specific courses, because the registration for them was quite hectic. In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
I can only recommend it. Yet, there is the downside that Waterloo/Cedar Falls is a relatively small town (at least in American standards - approx. 100 000+), which means that life outside campus could be more interesting other places. Yet, this also gives you an extra incentive to travel while you are there. FINAL COMMENTS
The closest really big city is Chicago, and it is definately not to be missed. Takes about five hours by car to get there. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
