Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Mainly because I would be significantly older than those living on Campus/in the dorms.
Personal comments:
OK accomodation. Pretty much what I'd expected. The best thing was the fact that it was on campus which made it central in relation to the things and people I was interested in.

Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment
Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal comments:
Pour Dicks was a good bar in the lower end of the spectrum. Otherwise some of the really good parties were private ones.

I wish I had known...
I would have liked to have had more information about the specific courses, because the registration for them was quite hectic.
In my opinion:
Most people loved it.

During my experience abroad, I ...
Became familiar with another culture
KEY:
Happened all the time.
Happened quite a lot.
Happened a bit.
Didn't happen.
Traveled
Improved language skills
Met people from other countries
Became more independent
Partied a lot
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies/career
Personal recommendation:
I can only recommend it. Yet, there is the downside that Waterloo/Cedar Falls is a relatively small town (at least in American standards - approx. 100 000+), which means that life outside campus could be more interesting other places. Yet, this also gives you an extra incentive to travel while you are there.
