HOUSING

Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? The same place as this , for convenience sake . This place located at the heart of the city. College is a 10 minute walk and most other things are very close as well.Considering the location, the rent for the apartment is reasonably cheap, couldn't have asked for more.
Personal comments:
Northumbria provides decent housing facilities for students. Though i havent had the experience of living in , but, some of my friends are and they find it very comfortable location wise, facilities and other things. The best thing about university housing is that one gets to meet people from other countries, cultures and gets to learn so much from different people. STUDENT LIFE

Personal social experience
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities, Travel: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Nightlife: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
well newcastle has the reputation of having one of the best night lifes around. There are some amazing night spots around where people can let lose and unwind and let go off themseleves.these folks around here sure know how to party and some of the events are really wild.best spots include dance city a night club and munchers a hang around place exclusive to students providing some ethinic food for very less. The university itself has a fanatastic bar which plays host to a number of events right through the calander. so , this is newcastle from a students point of view in the initial 2 months or so , but mind you i have a lot of exploring to do come some holidays. My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
The quality of teaching was not too good. Students were left to work on their own.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Lecturers should add more effort to expose students into practical aspects of their course taught. This will link the theoretical knowledge acquired to the expectations in the labour market This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES

The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Family Other sources of funding:
Personal savings Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
firstly , newcastle is a very expensive place comparitively.everything here is expensive but for ice creams which are surprisingly cheap.from rent to food to travel to fun activities very expensive. Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Telephone: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
Surprises not too many , i was expecting the place to be expensive anyway. cost saving tips include for smokers to get lots of cigaretters from elsewhere as in the UK duty tax is heavy.finding accommodation in the centre of the city for cheap makes travel expenses very less.find the right shops to buy things such as household , food stationary books so on. Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
I wish i had know a bit more about the weather, Newcastle is a very cold place.I also feel i should have know about the study culture here with the course demanding a lot from students. In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
Newcastle business school has the reputation of being the best modern university in the UK . its has all the facilities for graduate study and an excellent teaching staff. Offers the right choice of programmes for students from all back grounds .overall i would recommend this university to everybody and anybody. FINAL COMMENTS
students having thoughts of travelling to Newcastle should be prepared for the expenses for atlest a year. other things include lots of woollens, and travel straight to Newcastle instead of a stopover at London as it doesnt cost a lot and its hassle free.for engineering students this university offers some excellent courses in communications and electronics and computers as well.so , i would give a thumbs up for Newcastle and Northumbria, hope this has helped somebody somewhere. cheers, This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
