Good education but local oriented
Yana G
China, Undergraduate
, 2017
Overall
I was studying at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China. The university is nice and overall supportive, except one thing... During my studying there(2013-2017) foreign students were not supported anyhow in the future career or in internsip opportunites. There were absolutely no intersnhips for foreign students, some of them were restricted according to a chinese law as you suppose to have a particular type of visa for different cities, as the university is located on the territory of city Ningbo you have no rights to have an internship for example in Shanghai. As you can understand Ningbo is a developing city full of factories with lots of opportunities for engineer sudents however if you're a student of social science and don't speak chinese fluently (which is quite impossible as you're still learning the language) there is no way you get any internhip. The university itself also does not proovide internships for foreigners. I managed to get an internhip in our faculty however i had nothing to do as all the tasks were related to chinese translation and research. So I would not advice to study in this campus as a full time foreign student.

Here's What I Have To Say About Nottingham After Two Years:
Samantha M
United Kingdom,
Language, 2025
Overall
University Park is a gorghttps://www.iagora.com/images/istudy/onestar1.pngeous campus for nature lovers. It looks stunning throughout all the seasons. It's not the most modern campus, in comparison to the Jubilee Campus. It does, however, sport some modern buildings (e.g. the Monica Partridge Building).

The faculty of MLAC (the Languages department) are very friendly, particularly the Spanish & French staff.

You may have heard about recent tragic events in Nottingham and related to this university. It did shake people like myself, as students. Prior to this, I would say that I felt safe most of the time in Nottingham. Now, I am cautious but I would describe the city as dangerous.

Accomodation in NG1 can be higher in price, but it's worth it. You will be well connected: good, direct links to all campuses, lots of shops and places to hang out, close to the station and you'll always be the first one home after a night out. :)

A good universtiy for reaching your potential and with great research into teaching
Sophie C
United Kingdom, Undergraduate

Overall
thee student life is undeniably the best in the UK! As there are two large unis that live in Nottingham the night life is great and the town always has events/stuff to do. The universtiy itself is great with numerous libraries and buildings where you can complete work. Unfortunately during the pandemic and the strikes that happened last year there has been little support towards the students which is the reason why its missing one star.

When looking at courses, choose something you like - no matter how 'useless' it seems. The enjoyment you get will more than make up for that.

Personal recommendation
I would recommend it highly. It is well placed in England - geographically, it is central and only 2 hours to most cities in the UK - great base for travel. Academically, it has high ratings for teaching and research in almost all the departments there. Most recommended are for people studying medicine, law, the sciences, industrial economics, english and psychology. The engineering departments are also affiliated with many industrial employers - which gives many students more resources.

I wish I had known...
Maybe the fact that it was so long to transfer some money from France to England. I had to borrow money, which wasn't a nice experience.

Don't hesitate to go there but be careful not to take too many modules with essay, it's easier to have time to go out, travel and speak English. English isn't only in the books.

It was a great experience but I didn't really enjoy the academic part that was too much academic for me: lots of theories, books to read, essaies to discuss. I went to Nottingham after having worked one year for a company, it was very good, it may be the reason of my difficulty to go back university. I enjoy travelling and meeting foreign students (Asian in particular), it was the most interesting part of my year.

Amazing Teaching and wide range of modules
Callum T
Spain, Undergraduate
Biology, 2017
Overall
The course was well developed and had a good range of modules, the professors were all highly valued and respected within their given fields and also excellent at teaching. Campus life was always active with lots to participate in and get involved and always encouraged, many clubs and societies and easy to set up your own society if you couldnt already find what you wanted. Support and services were easy to accesss and always people to help you find exactly what you needed.
