HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Because I have known the life in the campus through my friends: sometimes there is too mess and too people. Besides I like to be independent and to take about myself on my own: a life with a family could conditionate me.
Personal comments:
The host University could not guarantee an accomadation for all the erasmus students but just for half semester exchange students. By the way they have arranged a "welcome programme" (very well organised!)during which they helped us tomeet others students, choosing our "future flatmate" and find a flat for all the year long. STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
During the week I was working in a pub:"the three Wheatcheaves" so my friends and I were using to spend some nights there. Otherwise on Tuesday night we were going to a disco "the Cube".During the week end there were always some Erasmus party organised by students in their own flat. Others two nice places were the pub of the University"the Ark"(in the campus) and "Pitcher and piano" a nice pub built inside an old church.( in the city centre) This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
I just think that there were few hours compare to Italian system.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Actually I think they are very well organised. I can't complain about the English system: I should about the italian one. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my English How much did you improve your English?
My level before: At ease in most situations My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
At the beggining Iwas worried because I was thinking not to be able to cope with lot of situation.Hopefully I discovered that also the othe students were like me. Little by little I improved my knowledge of words, slang expression and pronunciation. In the end I was speaking fluently wth local people and foreign students. EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Family Other sources of funding:
An ERASMUS grant Work opportunities:
I worked during my study abroad experience Personal spending habits:
I spent more just because the pound is valuing more than lira/ euro (in fact for an half of the year there was lira in mmy country, lather on there was EURO). Besides in England life is costing more than in Italy. Food, Travel, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Telephone: was the same price as at home. Nightlife: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
I think that for a foreign student is better opening a bank account over there: there are special account for students and they are very simple to manage. By the way I woyuld suggest to finf a part time job! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
