Do as much traveling as possible. Keep weekends free, so you can travel, it's really worth it. And be prepared to spend at least 1 or 2 month after your studies in NZ, so that you can really see something of the country. Dunedin is a great city to study at, people there are a bit crazy, but very friendly and relaxed. It really is a student city (in holidys the city is empty). Read Review

Why? Cheap. Living with students from NZ, they often had arrangements about cooking. Negative: cold (do not like to spend money on heating).

I did more travelling than at home and we went out quite a lot. Food: vegetables and fruits (my main source of food) was more expensive. But it was worth it!!!!

It's winter in July! But that was not too bad, we had a mild winter and the sun makes everything better.

Be prepared to do lots of work during the semester, there are many assignments during the semester, in addition to the exam at the end.
