Canada is a HUGE country that has to be visited from East to West. Culture is real particular: a mix between the USA and some European countries, such as England... You have to be confident and step forward to people; if you don't do so, you'll be by yourself! Read Review

Why? Space, calm and choice of neighours!!!

It's a hard tome living in a 1st year students residence when you're a 3rd year: too many parties, to much noise to study in calm, unrespectful neighbours...

Le Pub en Ville, a francophone pub with a great atmosphere, nice music and people The By Market: lots of small cafes, restaurants, shops...

The fact is that, here in Ottawa (Canada), people speak both French and English. As I'm French and I spoke English before coming, it was not a problem!

For the housing, I got no financial help from the government as in France. For the food, fresh things are more expensive here.
Food, Travel, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Nightlife, Telephone: was the same price as at home.
