University of Oxford, Wellington Square, OX1 2JD OXFORD, United Kingdom
Description:
Oxford is a unique and historic institution. As the oldest English-speaking university in the world, it lays claim to eight centuries of continuous existence. Since WWII, Oxford has added to its humanistic core a major new research capacity in the natural and applied sciences, including medicine. In so doing, it has enhanced and strengthened its traditional role as a focus for learning and a forum for intellectual debate.

HOUSING
by Alison, University of Wisconsin, Madison, Madison, United States
Economics, Independent
Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Independent apartment living, kitchen, parking accessibility, central to town.
Personal comments:
Housing in Oxford was more than adequate. Each floor had a shared kitchen which was fully functional, the University provided all bedding and bath necessities and a full bathroom was located privately in each single or double room. Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
PoNaNa, Mood, The Purple Turtle, Thirst, and Escape were the best night spots. Zizi was a good salad and pizza place. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

OVERALL
by tabitha, Universität Basel, Basel, Switzerland
Religion/Theology, Independent
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
that lectures are very poor and some tutors, too and that most of the students arbe between 18 and 22. In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
i do recommend the university of oxford, but not every field of study. theology for example was only so - so, while medicine must be great, etc. FINAL COMMENTS
if you like studying for yourself, eating books, then you are going to like oxford. if you are used to good food, nice weather and mountains think twice about it. if you have time to travel, make sure to visit scottland and wales, england is rather unexciting, except culture. therefore: see one of shakespeare's plays at stratford, stay at the castle in durham and visit london as often as you can!
