If you travel a lot you should buy a travel card. Travelling without it is very expensive. Travelling by bus is cheaper than by train but also very slow. If you want to meet local people you should join a society at the university. Thre are many different societies so you will find something interesting for sure! Read Review

HOUSING
Personal assessment

Location
Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I liked very much to live in a private accomodation with other foreign students. The halls of residence were not very nice either.
Personal comments:
It was pretty hard to find an accomodation and university of Southampton didn't really help us to find an accomodation.
