Disappointing.

Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? A flat where you can share rooms with people coming from other countries or from the host country is the best way to adapt yourself to new situations, get to know people's differences of culture and accept them. So that is why I would have chosen the same kind of accomodation.
Personal comments:
The accomodation was a few kilometers from the university of Tampere and you needed to take the bus. It was peaceful and well situated.

Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment
Nightlife: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment
Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal comments:
Cafe Europa was a nice place, as many international students go there and more importantly, Finns hoping to meet people from abroad also when here. The Irish bar, O' Connells was also a popular haunt of the open-minded.

Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't.
Personal comments:
All of the courses were offered in English, a huge advantage over trying to learn the materials in Finnish. The University also offered a series of survival courses that were positive to the environment.
