HOUSING
by athinal, Aristotle Panepistimio Thessalonikis, Thessaloniki, Greece
Literature, Erasmus
Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? You have to underatake more responsibilities, you get more adapted to the way of living in that country...paying bills, cooking your own food, learning to share more things with others.
Personal comments:
It was quite good, but rather expensive and a bit too far away from the town centre This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE

Personal social experience
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Personal comments:
Most international students visit the Bay and Rummers. If you are 18 years old and its your first time away from home, then go to the Glen or Pier Pressure... There are so many good place - one can always find a spot which suits you. The social life in Aber is pervasive. It matches any greek island any day! My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
accounting modules are more difficult than marketing ones - watch out! overall level well below italian standards, academically and esp. for requirements and expectations placed on students
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Suggestion for improvement: do not place such strict limits on word count for essays! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

LEARNING ENGLISH
by Marie, Université de Rennes I, Rennes, France
Law, Erasmus
Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my English How much did you improve your English?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.) My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
Spending one year in an English speaking country is really the best way of improving your language skills. After the first semester I understood everything. The only difficulty I had was at nights in pubs and clubs when the music was loud... This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
A private grant Other sources of funding:
Government assistance Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
I lived away from home and living expenses in GB are higher than in Germany. Food, Travel, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Nightlife: was the same price as at home. Telephone: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
How expensive fruits and vegetables were and train travel too-better take the National Express buses which go almost everywhere-especially the next airport (Manchester or Birmingham). This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

OVERALL
by alessioluz, Universita degli Studi di Verona, Verona, Italy

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
i would have known something more about Welsh traditions and culture and had a more detailed idea of the places to visit around aberystwyth In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
I haven't any particular recommendation, perhaps the standard difficulty and requirements of the courses should be increased FINAL COMMENTS
Aberystwyth is quite far from everything in Great Britain,so if you like to travel be ready to have an added difficulty:the distance from the other cities or places of England. Anyway the place is beautyful, especially for the presence of the sea.So if you are lucky to get an accomodation in the seafront halls, you will spend a great time there.
