There is some red tape involved, however, support from the university is provided and worth the investment i guess! Read Review

KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.

Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Contact with Canadiens as I shared the house with them! Be independent!
Personal comments:
There is the possibility to go on campus (Columbia Lake Village, 2 terms only) which cost much more! I was lucky with my house and the people, on the other hand, if you'd like to meet lots of exchange students, go on campus!

Fantastic.
Pretty good.
Could've been a bit better.
Disappointing.
Variety of courses
Availability/access to resources
Interaction with teachers
Interaction with other international students
Interaction with local students
Course recommendations:
Econ 304 is , so to say, the hardest course in Econ in terms of work load, but the prof had real work experiecn in Bank of Canada, and provided high quailty of lecture. UW has a wide selection of fine art course as well, which enable non-major in fine art can attend and enjoy.

My opinion of the university assessment
Exams at end of course
KEY:
Liked it.
It was alright.
A bit annoying.
Didn't like it.
Exams throughout the course
Essays and/or projects at the end of course.
Essays and/or projects throughout the course

Personal comments:
Most of German friends of mine told me UW has so many assignments comparing to German Universities. However, in my opinion, that's just the way they are. It's just different, even though I wished to have less assignments and mid-term exams which were easily conflicted in time.

Accessible but required effort.
Almost impossible.

Main source of funding:

Other sources of funding:

Personal savings
Work opportunities:
It was not legal for me to work
Personal spending habits:
In terms of travle, the public transportation is not as cheap as in Korea. But the rent is pretty same or somewhat less if you stay offcampus. Living in a residence requires more expenses than living offcampus. Acholic drink is a bit more expensive than Korea except wine.
Travel, Nightlife: was more expensive than at home.
Food, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
Be a Ebay-er, they've got some cheap and nice stuff and check the local second-hand shop on and off line.

Important to choosing this university...
Academic reasons
KEY:

I wish I had known...
I wished to have learnt German since unexpectedly I've met so many german exchange students there and become very good friends of life. Waterloo-Kitchener region was built by German immigrants.
In my opinion:
I loved it but I'm not sure everybody would.

During my experience abroad, I ...
Became familiar with another culture
KEY:
Happened all the time.
Happened quite a lot.
Happened a bit.
Didn't happen.
Traveled
Improved language skills
Met people from other countries
Became more independent
Partied a lot
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies/career
Personal recommendation:
This university is located in a very small town, which mean doesn't have that much of night life and the weather is not so pleasant with long winters and quite amounts of snows. If you like skiing and winter activities, it's a good choice. Even though you can't satisty with the given environments there, you can make it better with good friends.

FINAL COMMENTS

Montreal, Quebec city, Niagara fall, Thousand Island is good and well-know touristic place and worth to go. In terms of Cultural events, they've got Toronto Int'l Film Festival, Stratford Theatre Festival and Montreal Jazz festival etc.
