HOUSING
by victoria, Universitat de Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain

Personal assessment
Type of housing: A room exchange
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: A room exchange
Why? Because I had a great time there. I was living in a corridor with 12 students more, so I could have a lot of new experience and also the chance to know different cultures pretty well.
Personal comments:
I think was perfect. Exchange students were living at Flogsta (neighbourhood 10 min. from Uppsala centrer). It was very nice riding my bycicle everyday and the landscape around the area. Also was a district with an active night time. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Personal social experience
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Activities: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
All of the student nations have different weekly events - my favourites were V-Dala on Wednesday and Stockholm Nation on a Thursday night. There was also a good Sundaqy brunch at V-Dala. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
They are usually arranged for international students because they're taught in English, and only few Swedish students choose this chance.

EXPENSES

The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
An ERASMUS grant Other sources of funding:
Family Work opportunities:
It was not legal for me to work Personal spending habits:
Coming from an already expensive country, things did not seem all that much out of price, but for most other countries it will be. Alcohol is ridiculously expensive. Travel: was more expensive than at home. Nightlife, Overall, Housing: was the same price as at home. Food, Telephone: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Phone is cheap with Comviq pre-paid cards (provided by university). Buy a bike in order to save on bus cards. Go on cruises in the Baltic Sea to stock up on alcohol. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
No In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
This is a great university to go. The management courses were very interesting. I think that it is very important to live on the campus, with swedish and international students FINAL COMMENTS
Uppsala is nice because it is a student town, but also because it is very close to Stockholm, thus it is very easy to travel from this city. But it is important to go there with personal saving, to travel and take advantage of all that the student live provides in Uppsala.
