HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? Living in a campus allowed me to be in contact with different cultures not only during the time spent at the university but also in the spare time. Sharing the apartment with a roomate has been educative and it help me to speak constantly english improving the language skill.
Personal comments:
The experience could not be better. The friendship that i built there are still in place, the experience has been not only a challenge profesionally but also personally. Being resposible in first line ourself has no price and let you discover a lot of aspects that previously were not important or underlined. Government assistance An ERASMUS grant University assistance Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
Nightlife and trips were organised by the university and it was required to participate to create the community, and of course it was a pleasure to take part of all the events, the rent avarage is higher since finland has a price level higher compare to the other EU countries. Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Food, Telephone: was the same price as at home.

OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
That it could be so cold and so dark during winter time. In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
The organisation is simply perfect. You will be assigned to a tutor that will help you from the first day, from coming to the train station to pick you up to visit the university and come with you to have the food purchase. The local erasmus team will manage to organise trip, party, excursion. You will have a program for everyday, everynight. FINAL COMMENTS
You should visit Lapland, especially in jan- Feb to have the chance to see the northern light. If you have to choose the campus where to go, Tekla 2 is the best. You should plan a trip also to stockholm and Helsinky and tampere. The balcan countries are also interesting and Russia of course. Please try Ice swimming, you will love it.
