4.33 / 5 based on 24 reviews.
Description:
Washington State University, the state's land-grant university, is dedicated to the preparation of students for productive lives and professional careers, to basic and applied research in various fields, and to the dissemination of knowledge. Founded in Pullman in 1890, the university became a multicampus system in 1989 with the establishment of campuses in Spokane, the Tri-Cities and Vancouver.
The university consists of nine colleges and a graduate school. For more than a century, WSU has offered strong and varied academic programs. The liberal arts and sciences have always occupied an important place in the curriculum, along with business, education, architecture, pharmacy, nursing, and the traditional land-grant programs in agriculture and home economics, engineering and veterinary medicine.

The only problem with WSU is that it is in a small university town, so there isn't much to do. Read Review

Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? The age difference here is a big culture change from anyone who has lived in the United Kingdom. If you are under 21 the drinking laws are very strict. Being 21 I would like to be able to drink in my room, am allowed but only am allowed three people in my room at a time and they have to be 21 or over.
Personal comments:
I live on what is called "The Hill" halls, these are by far the nicest on campus and the situation of them is fantastic. The residence hall is close to all classes and the building is fantastic , with big rooms and nice areas to work and socialise.

Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't.
Personal comments:
Language was not a problem for me and was so nice to know that my english language was helping American students, with the different vocabulary and literary differences. Communication on the whole was easy and not a problem and people here are very interested in finding out more about you and your country

Party / people
Weather / Location
I wish I had known...
I wish i had known the true distance from things, coming from a small country i underestimated the time if takes to travel around the United States.
In my opinion:
I loved it but I'm not sure everybody would.

During my experience abroad, I ...
Became familiar with another culture
KEY:
Happened all the time.
Happened quite a lot.
Happened a bit.
Didn't happen.
Traveled
Improved language skills
Met people from other countries
Became more independent
Partied a lot
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies/career
Personal recommendation:
Come to WSU if you are 21 or over and love the feel of a campus , if you are all of the above you will have the best time ever

FINAL COMMENTS

If you come to WSU, spend time in organising going to califdornia and Seattle , I feel in love with both of these places and think that if you are from England if you like London you will love Seattle. Be ready to be exhausted with meeting people it is very challenging but so worth the rewards six weeks in.
