ACADEMIC

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
As an Erasmus student you can pick single courses from every field of interest, and you don't have to decide until a few weeks after start of studies. Use those weeks, visit as many classes as possible, talk to the lectures, before you decide which courses you really want to take. But timetables change a lot in the first two months, so your carefully selected personal timetable might just collaps like a house of cards and you'll suddenly have overlapping courses or long breaks between classes.
My opinion of the university assessment

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my English How much did you improve your English?
My level before: At ease in most situations My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
The local language is the Irish, but when I chose to study in Ireland I was not aiming to learn from the Irish language, rather to learn from the English language. I am pretty happy from by feedback under a social, academic and under an overall point of view. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Main source of funding:
Government assistance Other sources of funding:
Family An ERASMUS grant A private grant Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
Telepone: Because there is no landline telephone in the dormitory - had to use public phones. Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Food: was the same price as at home. Travel, Nightlife: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
College accomodation has to be paid for 6 months in advance - my parents had to help me out there. There is a monthly bus ticket for all Waterford, and student discount on maný other services - just ask. For plane tickets - check out usit.ie, a student travel provider This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

We travelled from Austria to Ireland by car, which didn't cause any problems. Finding proper accomodation and courses at the college was a bit difficult at the start, but after a few weeks everything worked out fine and we had a GREAT time in Ireland!!!!
