HOUSING
by qvistman2, Luleå Tekniska Universitet, Lulea, Sweden
Business Studies, Erasmus
Personal assessment
Type of housing: A room exchange
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? because I need some space and I do not think that sharing room with a stranger is a good idea for a longer period of time.
Personal comments:
There is no campus on the Vienna university, therefore the student housing is situated all over vienna. That is pitty, since it is more fun to live close to other students. However, the actual housing is good, there are many places to choose between, many of wihch are located near the center of Vienna. STUDENT LIFE
by Andrei, Copenhagen Business School, Copenhagen, Denmark
Marketing and Sales Management, Summer school based on scholarship from WU Wien
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Personal comments:
The Bermuda Triangle is a never-exhausting source of joy. The beer fare in front of the City Hall, with projections of symphonic concerts running every night during the summer, is not a place to be missed. The hystoric attractions of the city will always keep you busy. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

ACADEMIC

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
If you are an erasmus student try to do those courses organised by "ZAS" as they tend to be a lot easier than other courses for exchange students.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
There should have been more consideration for exchange students who wanted to study German courses. It was also very frustrating to find out that there were no clubs (eg. Football) to join within the college. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: German
Was learning German a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my German How much did you improve your German?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.) My level after: Personal comments:
Since most of my courses were in German, I learned to study in this language and to use special terms in many business areas. As I also attended some seminars, I had to interact in German, to prepare presentations and to work on projects with my Austrian colleagues, which I think, has helped to improve my communication skills. EXPENSES

The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Personal savings Other sources of funding:
None Work opportunities:
It was not legal for me to work Personal spending habits:
Food is definitely more expensive, but housing is a real deal in Vienna. There is no other big city in Western Europe that has such low rent. Expect about 300-375 euros for a single bedroom in a good location. It really gives you a lot more to spend elsewhere. Food, Travel: was more expensive than at home. Nightlife, Overall: was the same price as at home. Telephone, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
