HOUSING
by Polina, St. Petersburg State University, St. Petersburg, Russia
Management Science, University Agreement
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Dormitory
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Dormitory
Why? I would like to choose another dormitory of I were to come again: a cleaner place with a bigger kitchen.
Personal comments:
Housing is quite nice as everything is arranged thorugh the university. The web-page contains a lot of useful information and personnel respond to enquiries quite fast. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Activities: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Nightlife: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
loved joe's bar in the city center and the american bar Kruegers as well. Other places with a good party spirit was La Habana (9th district) and the q-bar (7th district). This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

ACADEMIC
by Maja, Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien, Vienna, Austria
Economics, Independent
My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
economics (VWL) is generally not that overcrowded course, with makes the classes more interesting and the atmosphere more familiar than in business administration (BW/IBW)
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Teachers should actually teach and not merely wait for students to prepare seminar papers and presentations.. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: German
Was learning German a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my German How much did you improve your German?
My level before: Basic phrases My level after: At ease in most situations Personal comments:
Austria is a particular country to learn german because of the different dialects in the country. But it's also interesting because we are forced to stay concentrated all the time and after a periode we could understand pretty well the people. OVERALL

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
that VWL was Economics and BWL Business Administration ;) In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
The WU is a good university if you are interested in a particular area and want to enrich your knowledge. If you don't know what you want, you will get by, but it will bring you nothing. However, if you do have plans and career options and are prepared to work hard for it, the WU might indeed be your excellent stepping stone. FINAL COMMENTS
I completed my undergraduate studies in Economics there and I think it was a great decision for my future. Vienna as a city is lovely, it is just waiting to be explored. Living there as a student is an unforgettable experience, because cultural activities, sports or languages are so many you actually won't have time to do them all!
