Why? If you live on campus you're way off all the attractions the city has to offer. If you rent an appartment downtown you're right in the centre.

In general Canada is not more expensive than austria, however, it was my exchange semester so I decided to spend more.
Food, Travel, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Nightlife: was the same price as at home.
Telephone: was less expensive than at home.

get a deutsche bank "junges konto" and transfer money cost free.
