HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? Because the life experience of a campus goes beyond the accademic content of the University and I believe it is unparalleled in terms of cultural mix and leisure opportunities
Personal comments:
I lived in a very small but nice bachelor in campus where I had a kitchen, a sitting-bed room and a washroom. This kind of accomodation ensured me much independence, although a "collective" accomodation in of of the campus colleges would have been even better in terms of living a university life. Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my English How much did you improve your English?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.) My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
The language was a little bit of a concern before leaving because, although my knowledge was fair (I graded 590 at TOEFL), I did not have much conversational experience, nor I had taken any course in english. Anyway while facing some issues during the first couple of weeks, improvements were continuous and allowed me to gain a level of proficiency good enough not only for social situation but also for conducting business This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
