I am writing in response to your advertisement for a Production Assistant internship posted on the New York New Media Association website. I am a recent graduate of London College, love the Internet and international travel, and have a combination of skills and experience that makes me well-qualified for this position.

I hope to pursue website development as a career. Over the past year and a half I have taught myself HTML 4, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and Dreamweaver, in addition to doing some recent travelling in England and the US. I would now like the opportunity to be a part of the development of a high-quality website like iagora.com and to further my education.

I am organized, show initiative, pay attention to detail, and am skilled at working on multiple projects. As a teaching assistant for two summers, I helped teach English reading, writing and revising skills to a diverse group of exceptionally talented teenagers who were recent immigrants from around the world. In addition to helping guide the work of the students, when student rowdiness at lunch began to develop, I initiated a program of activities for the teenagers to do during their unstructured lunch hour. The program successfully served to keep students enjoying themselves and safe. In a number of other organizations during and following college, my experiences as an advertising and temporary assistant have given me the opportunity to develop presentations, maintain a database, and distribute mass mailings using Word, Excel and WordPerfect.
