Final comments
There is really a lot to see not only in Cairo, but all over Egypt. I would definately recommend visiting this country at least once due to the diversity in almost everything. Also, the local people are very friendly and it is not difficult to talk to people and to create a circle of friends.

Personal comments
The courses at the university are taught in English, however, when students interact with each other it is mostly done in Arabic or a mixture of both languages. Personally, it wasn't hard for me to interact with students in terms of language as there weren't any barriers.

Personal comments
Generally speaking, the American University of Cairo provides its study abroad students with very good housing facilities and they have dorms in another part of town that are apparently very satisfactory and offer all the necessary facilities and requirements. So far I have never heard any complaints about their housing.

Some of the nicest places to go to at night include La Bodega, Club 35, Cairo Jazz Club, and Latex at the Nile Hilton. During the day it is nice to just spend some time at cafes such as Tabasco,L'Aroma, and Cilantro. Among the other things that I would recommend are visiting the pyramids and doing some site seeing whenever possible as there are so many interesting things to see due to the history of the country.
