The best night spots can be found in the streets surrounding the downtown campus. Particularly on Crescent street. The best cafes are on St-Laurent street located on the other side of the downtown area. Travel is very convinient by metro and well worthwhile. Certainly the various museums in the downtown area and the Biodome located at the Olympic Stadium are must sees. The night life is also something to be taken advantage of.

Course recommendations
I chose lots of courses on local politics. I think it was a good decision, I learned a lot. Courses are taught in a very different way than in Europe. It's more like a discussion on the material red at home. Forget the magistral courses !

Exams are quite easier than in Europe but you will have papers to write in nearly all the courses. I believe this is interisting.

I am much more comfortable than I was before when it deals with speaking english now. I think what made the difference was the fact that I really wanted to communicate and exchange ideas with all the people around me with whom I had to work in every courses. I made the choice of studying abroad since I wanted to discover a new culture through people, countryside and the education system but I also knew from the beginning that I was there to improve my english everyday.

When I started taking courses in Concordia University I had already been living in Montreal for three years. Montreal being a bilingual city (French/English), I was already familiarized to English. My studies in Concordia helped me to perfect my English and to meet even more Englih speaking people from Canada and all over the world.

Course recommendations
If coming from outside North America, it's best to do courses which are a level higher. Also with Montreal being a Francophone city, it's best to take a course in French if you're not already French speaking.

Teaching style would be better based upon acquiring and the applying knowledge, rather than memorising.
