The DTU cellar bar was great fun on Tuesday nights. The Studenter Huset in København was great, especially on Wednesdays. The whole of the city was generally fun to go around and there was always a club or pub that we could to if we wanted. The late opening hours of the pubs and clubs took a bit of getting used to, as the next day often involved sleeping!

I really enjoyed my accommodation, especially as I had a fellow international student as a flatmate. We got on well, and with the landlady. She really looked after us well and nothing seemed to be too much bother for her.

Danish is an interesting language to learn, and I wished that I had had the time to take up one of the courses for learning it. However, I did get quite good just by meeting the Danes, reading newspapers and watching TV.

I was disappointed that supermarkets did not take international VISA cards. It is definitely worthwhile getting a travel card, instead of clipcards, for travelling around the København area.

Academic
Course recommendations
All the engineering courses that I had taken were pretty good, and interesting. Some of them could have been more fun, but generally there was no problem.

Personal comments
As we international students had various experiences of how to study, it did take a while to get into the Danish way of studying. More guidance would have been nice, especially as there is so much else in the country that foreigners are seeing - as well as the studying!

I wish I had known...
I should have learned more Danish before going there, but that wasn't really much of a problem.

Personal recommendation
This university is great fun, especially for international students. It can be quiet on campus at times, but København is only 30 minutes away - and that is party city!

Final comments
A lot of the other international students didn't make much effort to meet Danish people. I did, through a club I was in, and it really was nice to meet them. The Danes can be hard to get to meet, but once the ice is broken they are wonderful people.
