Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
Living in a house is just great but living in a campus makes you more in contact with what is happening and helps a lot in getting information about your studies and making more friends

It's very hard in Copenhagen to find free places with good prices. Some people are more lucky and some are less.As for the accomodation office, I think that they are doing a lot but still not everything however I don't expect them to do everything. It's true that magazines and advertisements are in Danish but it is no problem asking somebody to translate a small add about appartement rentals. Some people just don't get it that somethings they have to do by their own.The place we got from the acc. office was pretty dirty at the beginning and there were problems with the heating. We fixed a lot of things in the house ,after all we are newcomer engineers and we cleaned the shit that was there. No we are one of the few people to have a supercheap house with a perfect location and a backyard for summer grills, no family but still nothing fancy.

I haven't discovered anything here by my own. It's enough to get to know other internationals and you'll have a full schedule of parties and events. Student houses have there own discotheques,Copenhagen is full of them and DTU has it's own club which also organizes a lot of parties

Course recommendations
I would recommend to apply as soon as possible to courses since the cool ones can get pretty fast overbooked. As for the subjects I chose, I took three subjects which were far from what I was taking in my home country. They were not about numbers and calculations niether programming. But still they had something in common with the IT world. All three subjects I highly recommend for people who would like to have a rest from programming and mathematics for a while and have some more time to see more of the country. Standardization in Telecommunication: It is about standards in our everyday life. Intranet in the Virtual organization: also interesting subject about communication between people using the intranet. Strategy and Planning: this is a good subject if you are planning to manage a company some day. As for the rest of the programs I chose Real Time Systems. Noe here there is a little more of thinking but it is a very interesting subject about automatas. Embedded Systems: This is a subject I would prefer not to have. Lectures are boring however the labs are interesting but still a lot of electronics and cables which is not for me

I'm very satisfied with all the things right here. But if I would have had to stay more than 6 monthes here then I would have prefered to pay some more money and get a better place to live in. You know with some higher standard Microwave,TV,a better looking toilet.

Food is more expensive right here especially restaurants this is why I'm more cooking at home to save some cash. Accomodation is more expensive since in my Home Country I have my own app. I don't pay any rentals as for traveling well there is no country that beats Poland in its cheap communication. Denmark has a very good network but also very expensive. I great solution is the bicycle it is just great to cycle here especially when you think of all the cash you are saving

Buy a bike from the Police Auction and go ecological. If you are a good cook like me then cook your own food. Supermarket food is cheap especially from shops such as ALDI and NETTO. If you are using the trains a lot ( not the S-trains) buy a wild card for discounts. As for parties everyday there is a place where you can go for free. Just check the places and you'll be always on the plus. Check SHuset in Copenhagen on Wednesdays and Park Cafe on thursdays etc...

Almost everybody here speaks english so if somebody speaks english then there is no problem. And after the Danish course I took there was no problem at all. Some very old people or for example the person ijn the Pizza place next to our house didn't speak english but after the course it was fun to ask for a pizza in Danish and listen how much did it cost.
