Accomodation is the biggest drawback of choosing to live in Dublin : very difficulty to find, quite expensive and not always very clean. My advice is to ask the University's accomodation officer for names of landlords. This is the best way to find accomodation, because being recommanded by someone is the most efficient way to reach your goal in a country that uses "networking" at lot.

Yes : do not hesitate to come with you own car - the ferry is not very expensive, but living 10 minutes away by car will be a lot cheaper.

Watching was very helpful, as well as recruitement interviews. The biggest problems were with the local students, speaking quicky and with slang.
