Personal comments
I have learned a lot of spanish at my home university, but I feel that you really have to spend some time in a spanish environment to fully understand all the aspects of the language. So I feel that the exchange i BCN was a natural continuation of my earlier spanish studies.

Expenses
Main source of funding:
Government assistance
Other sources of funding:
Personal savings
Work opportunities:
I didn't want/need to work
Personal spending habits
I chose to travel l lot when I stayed in BCN, so a consequence of this was that my expenses relates to travel increased. I also used my mobil more than back home, which gave a further blow to my budget. And when in BCN, do as the locals and go out... so my expenses related to this increased as well.

Personal comments
If you're in BCN for a short time, stay with a family. That reduces you costs a lot, because you don't need to invest in linen and kitchenware etc.

Academic
Course recommendations
Would like to recommend the CEMS Business Project, it's an interesting experience, where you learn to work in team and cross the cultural divide in the way the southern and northern europeans work.

I think that the local teachers don't take the exchange students so seriously. That is a drawback for a graet school.

It's the best MBA school in spain and the spanish speaking world. So if you want to sharpen your spanish and learn something at the same time, go there! And now I haven't told about all the new friends you'll get...

The café Paris is a good place to go after a night on the town. I would also like to recommend quilombo, a local bar that plays a lot of live spanish music.

Housing
Type of housing: With a family
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
When I go back to Barcelona, I hope it will be for some time. And therefore it would be nice to be more independent and have some more space than I had with my family the first time.

Personal comments
The exchange students can choose to stay at a "campus" but it's extremely expensive and is far away from the city centre, so most of us chose to find private accomodation, either with a family or with other students.
