I was able to improve my language skills thanks to my tandem partner. However, the locals rarely ever spoke to foreigners so I wouldn't count on locals for helping to pick up on German.

This was my second exchange to Germany, so language was no problem for me. Other friends that don't speak as much German don't seem to have too many problems though either.

Although Americanistics is taught in English in Germany, I has a perfect opportunity to learn German at courses which the University gives to international students

With the local dialect it was a little bit difficult at the beginning, but after a few months it was no problem to understand other students.

I found good the german language's classes after which it was possible use the german grammatick knowledge in the host country, speaking with the people
