Excellent Facilities, but the Faculty...

Overall
ETH will give you access to the state-of-the-art equipment and you will be at the forefront of research in almost every STEM field there is; however, their faculty is not very helpful at guiding/supporting you if you don't come from a European, particularly Swiss/German style, schooling/background.  I can't tell you how many times a lecture started out with, "Well, I would go into detail about this mechanism, but you all already know it, so moving on...." If you are a foreigner in these programs, you will automatically be behind all of your Swiss/German/Austrian counterparts who did their bachelor's at ETH.  And, although most of the postgraduate programs are held in English, if a student or professor perceives they can get away with it, they'll switch to German in an instant for lectures and otherwise (i.e., group conversations, training, etc.).  If you are a woman, good luck, but if you're in the STEM field already, then you already know.

Pros
Top-notch equipment, facilities, technology, information access you could hope for in an institution.
Cons
As a foreigner, you will have to work several-fold harder than your native counterparts just to be mediocre.

Personal recommendation
ETH is struggling to become an international institution. Local students are considered better than international students. ETH has outrageous rules that only apply if your international student. So if you have not been accepted by other University ETH is good but if you have the choice, chose somewhere else. Maybe in 5 ou 10 years, the manage to become an International Institution

ABOUT
ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich; German: Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich) is a science, technology, engineering and mathematics STEM university in the city of Zürich, Switzerland. Like its sister institution EPFL, it is an integral part of the Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology Domain (ETH Domain) that is directly subordinate to Switzerland's Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research.[3] The school was founded by the Swiss Federal Government in 1854 with the stated mission to educate engineers and scientists, serve as a national center of excellence in science and technology and provide a hub for interaction between the scientific community and industry.[4] ETH Zurich is consistently ranked amongst the most prestigious universities in the world for the subjects of engineering and technology. It is ranked 8th in the world in the 2016 edition of the QS World University Rankings, while the QS World University Rankings by Subject has ranked it as the best university in the world for Earth & Marine Sciences in both 2015/16 and 2016/17's editions.[5][6] Twenty-one Nobel Prizes have been awarded to students or professors of the Institute in the past, the most famous of whom was Albert Einstein. It is a founding member of the IDEA League and the International Alliance of Research Universities (IARU) and a member of the CESAER network.
