Favorite cafe is called DUDOK, quite close to Blaak and has great Ice-creams and quite good coffee. Best night spot, I would have to say Night-Town on thursdays but Hollywood was funny in its own, special way

Rotterdam is a very friendly city (in most places). Its not very expensive and offers a lot of activities. Communications are good, both in the city and to other cities and countries.
