First, I tried to meet German people, abd to spend time with them. I tried to speak as much as possible, without trying to speak English, or using a dictionnary. That's the best way to improve verbal communication. In the courses, I also tried not to interrupt my listening, and just noted the difficult words.

The best way to learn a language is to live in that country. I initially was afraid to speak german - english gets you by almost anywhere - but then once I got used to making mistakes and speaking german, I found a huge difference in the quality of my stay in Munich. It has given me more confidence in myself and i don't think twice of having to relocate myself around the world.

At first it was hard to practice the language on the locals as they would start talking back in broken English as they wanted to practice their English, but you just have to be persistent.
