The Quebecois accent is really quite something, and although you get used to it pretty quickly, some Montrealers speak i a much stronger accent that other. As a consequence you sometimes get landed with a lecturer who is very hard to understand.

Personal recommendation
If you're looking for an easy ride and good grades, steer clear of the finance courses. However, if you want the opportunity to do courses that aren't available at most UK unis, then it might be worth sacrificing grades for the experience.

Final comments
Whatever you do, don't pack lightly! The winter is freezing, and can get down to -40, but this has little or not effect on socialising and going out, so don't worry. Plus, taxis in Montreal are very inexpensive.

Private accomodation offers the freedom and flexibility that university accomodations would not. Futhermore, private rental in Montreal is very inexpesive compared to the UK.

Peel Pub on St Cathrine's a great place to go for a few before going out, the best night clubs are mostly on St Laurent. Cafe Campus on a Tuesday night is a student must!
