I spen more on the telephone, because I only had a mobile phone so calling abroad became more expensive. I spend more on the nightlife not because it is more expensive but because I went out much more. On food and travelling I spend less because it was cheaper in Holland than in Sweden.

If you need furniture or household items go around the city, beacsue in Holland they have a wounderful recycling tradition, that everyone leaves their things outside on the street, once a week, so who ever needs anything can take it before the garbage men do! Some things are a real catch!

The prices for basic neccesities in America is lower as well as the taxes. Taxes and overall living expenses are very high in Amsterdam compared to California.

Amsterdam is not more expensive than other cities, but because of the good nightlife, cultural, travelling opportunities I still paid much more than at home

The life is generally more expensive in Amsterdam than in Pris and this is specially true for the food and the housing, but for the nightlife it was the frequency that made me spend more than at home
