I found I spoke more in French than in German as all the Germans know English very well (and even corrected mine) whilst with the other students from Spain and France I spoke to in French.

Academic
Course recommendations
I was pretty much on my own but had a great tutor. Whilst I didn't take many formal courses I got involved with other people's work and created some of my own.

No favourite, was just fantastic to be able to walk and find cool places. In terms of districts Prenzlauer-Berg was brilliant.

Housing
Type of housing: A room exchange
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I like the idea that I didn't know what I was going to and had a great time with the guys I lived with. The only reason I wouldn't do a room exchange if I went back is that I would like to go back to the same area - Prenzlauer-Berg
