we have two restaurants but unfortunatelly I m not a good cooker. I think there are big differences between turkey and holland about food prices. And than a student can easily rent a flat with 100 euro for a mount. travel prices and nightlife are expensive in my country. railway system is awesome in holland and europe.

maybe you know I give my rent with delay. It was horrible. my family sent me my money but I couldn't take it easily. And I will not forget, When I was coming back to Turkey I had only 50 cent. :)

I think you can go to a place knowing to much. Then i ask is it worth going there? There is less to discover.

The university is very nice, smaller than i am familiar with. Teaching is with smaller groups, so its a little like going back to school. Nice for a change! As for the content, its good to get a new teaching perspective.

Go there with an open mind and you won't be disappointed. Those who spent too long moaning about what was wrong and what was better about where they were from didn't get as much from the experience as those who choose to enjoy what the place they were in had to offer. The best experience of all is meeting people, lots of very interesting people from all over Europe and beyond. That's what it is all about because when we are at home we are not encouraged, through not being a necessity more than anything, to interact with people with different beliefs and ideals. Now i have a number of very close friends that i would not have had if i had chosen not to go. More to the point i hope i learned something from all of them.

Arnhem is quite close to Amsterdam and other nice places. It is easy to get to know people. People in Netherlands are friendly and open minded.

If you can have a laptop before coming it could be a very good thing... Not a lot of computers are available in the school (especially connected to Internet) .

accommodation options varied between room exchange and apartment houses. both types of facilities proved to be quite favourable, with advantages and disadvantages in both. students were allocated to accommodation types without choice or request though. overall, it was a pleasant experience though.

the language of instruction was english although local students were instructed in their native tongue. i was at ease with the local language as i speak afrikaans, a derivative from primitive dutch. most of the words currently used in dutch are the same as in afrikaans, so communication was not a problem at all. it proved, however, to be equally difficult to get a proper grasp of the language as i am accustomed to grammar used in afrikaans.
