Housing
Type of housing: off-campus international dorms
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: International dorms
Why?
Spending half a year living with people from all parts of the world and from all parts of Mexico had been truly a wonderful social and educational experience and look forward to many more occasions if given an opportunity. I now have contacts in my social network that go across the globe that I keep in touch with everyday by means of today's technology that enables you to stay in touch through email, messenger, etc. A global social network that I have created from all the great international students that I had a luxury of living and studying with had been priceless to me.

The accommodation turned out to be pleasant once getting used to. Coming from a 1st world country and from a middle to upper-class metropolis I was used to high standard accomodations. Adjusting was not a problem though. I was just happy and fortunate enough to be there and learning about how to accommodate myself with 100 international students from all parts of the world and not let our cultural differences interfere with everyone's way of life. The accomodations had also helped me develop those expatriate charateristics seeked today such as being able to adjust to foreign environments, development of personal and emotional maturity, and so on.

It is by far the cheapest option. No one tells you what to do, and you can eat whatever you want, or have parties at your apt. if you want. Visitors are also much easier to keep in your own apartment, because if you rent a room, they'll want to charge you for anyone who stays the night.

Residence is RIDICULOUS! Way to expensive, no girl/guy mix (not even visitors), no food. Host families usually start well, but they always go rotton. Apartment is the way to go. My apt. was beautiful. 2000 pesos per month shared.

I really had a great advisor at the school, who helped with any issue I came accross. She connected me with a great family who I've come to be very acquainted with. As for my instructors at this school, they were great. They offered assistance to me quite often during my stay, and I'd like to praise this school for it's hospitality.

It would be nice to share an apartment with a group of students and experience real independent life in Mexico. The family program was amazing and I was very spoiled by my "house-mom", however, I'd like to experience everyday living in Mexico this time.

Everything was top notch. I've never stayed in such a nice house. My house family treated me like one of their own.

The facilities provided by the university are convenient but expensive. They are located on campus, but I prefered to have contact to Mexicans.

The university puts a lot of effort in providing housing and assisting their international students to find housing on their own.
