Leeds is one of the best city to have a great student life in England. There are so many different places, so many concerts, so many bars and pubs... My favourite was definitely the Wardrobe, where you can listen jazz music, or the hifi on sunday night for the concerts(free and friendly)... In Hyde park there is a small beautiful place called the Moorish: you can chill there and have some amazing drinks and cakes!!

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I did enjoy the kind of housing I chose. I used to share a house with german and english people, I was the only french person that was something I wanted. We used to have so much fun and I would love to do it again.

I think it can be good too but I don't think it is the best way to know the culture of the country. It is more difficult to meet people from the host country (only erasmus students)

I wanted to enjoy as much as possible my experience abroad. That's why I spent quite a lot in travelling (I visited lots of places in United Kingdom), I also went out a lot to meet people again and again, I think it is the best way to improve your social life. On the other side i used to try to minimize my expenses in other categories like clothes, telephone...

Academic
Course recommendations
The system is really different compared to university in France. You have plenty of time to make your own research but it also means that if you are not motivated enough to work, you can fail easily because nobody cares if you are present on lectures or not. But it is also a good way to take your responsabilities!!

not really... I came in Leeds on my own, I did not know the city at all, I just looked at the pictures on Internet before leaving France!! and I liked the fact not to know what would happen then.

The beginning was not so easy even if I used to spaeak english quite a lot in my business school (with erasmus students, english and american teachers, but when I arrived in Leeds I was always with english people I di not know at all and they all spoke slang, that was really frustrating but I quickly felt more confident with it and most of these people has become good friends of mine, which makes me learn the language faster and faster. At uni the courses were animated with power point presentations, which make things easier for us, international students
