Housing
Type of housing: corridor in student housing
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: A room exchange
Why?
because it was where most of the students lived and one could get most out of the student community

Personal comments
I lived on a corridor with 7 other people, which was good in ways of integrating with the Swedish. I had a bathroom all for myself, a big enough room. A minor drawback was the shared kitchen, which wasn't the cleanest, but bearable and definitely enough space to store in the fridge etc. Also, no kitchen equipment was needed,we all shared, which is very convenient for an exchange student!

Personal comments
in Sweden, everyone, even the lady in the supermarket, speak a pretty good english. so from the beginning, there was no problem to be in contact with people. they also appreciated if someone spoke the local language, so it was worth an effort to study it. I took classes both in English and Swedish, which was also a good way to learn the language

Personal spending habits
Sweden is a bit more expensive in most any field, esp. night life. Food can be ok, depending on the expectations... Spent more on traveling because I just took more chances to travel when I could, knowing that I would only be there for a year
