English is not the mother tongue here but every inhabitant can speak english...so it is easy to understand and make ourselves understood! The teachers do not always speak very good so the improvement could have been better for us...but we couldn't expect more, otherwise we had to go to England or America!!!

Take the Swedish courses offered. If only for the fun, international atmosphere and great people you get to know. If writing a thesis, do it at a lab. You are welcomed with open arms and integrated into lab life quickly. Watch your money and time deadlines.

You should bring a fascination for this country. Then travel around and notice the subtle differences. Enjoy nature, and enjoy the people.

The food is more expensive and I called guite often home to Finland which increased my phone bills. Accomodation was just a little bit more expensive what it was for me in Finland.

Don't buy books - try to borrow from library or copy them. Copying is not 'legal' but anyway everybody do like that.
