louisiana is the gem in the crown of the united states...great food, great people, great atmosphere, culture, nightlife etc ...new orleans is an amazing place and you will find that baton rouge hides many wonderful secrets.

don't be afraid to mix with the locals, i have met some of the most amazing wonderful people in baton rouge, many of whom will stay with me for the rest of my life. Make it down to new orleans as often as possible and have lots of fun.

JUST DO IT!!! It is certainly one of the greatest experience ever! If you have a girlfriend, it may be a difficult choice, but you are young and have to take opportunities sometimes...that may change your life, or at least make it magic during 1 or 2 semesters!!!

Personal recommendation
Southerners are really disguished and warm; prejudism is present thus, but it is rare. Students who love history, traditions and heritage will enjoy living in Baton Rouge, but they will enjoy a lot more if they're especially in contact with local activities at BR and New Orleans.

Travelling to the deep South, to the bayou, allowed us to get in contact with sensational nature and great preservation efforts to keep the fragile enviroment of the swamps and the bayou.
