Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
All the exchange students were living on campus which made it a very fun place to stay. Moreover I shared a kitchen with several Norwegian students which allowed to also get to know local people.

The accommodation is located close to the university, however it was located outside the city center (you had to go there by bus)

The bar in the school is not to be missed: in Klubben, there is cheap beer and a good atmosphere. On special occasions, it gets very crowded and exciting there ! There are also plenty of enjoyable places dowtown, bars like Hulen (this bar for students was built in a cave!)or discos like Metro or Miles Ahead.

It was a quite good accomodation, every student had his own room with a small bathroom inside and a window with a wonderful wiew over the fiords. The only negative comment is for the cleanliness.

My favourite night clubs were Maxim's, Agora, Metro and Scotsman. Some nice cafes, specially Portofino and Mr.Bean. Don't leave Bergen before the National Day on the 17th of May. It's incredible! The streets are full of people wearing their regional dresses. The Norwegian flag is everywhere and there is also plenty of music and fun in all the city during all the day and night. Bergen is the perfect city for students loving nature. Amazing landscapes at few minutes from the city center (Funicular of Floien), and also incredible trips through the fiords (Sognefjord, "The fiord of dreams", which is the biggest fiord in the world).

As Norwegian is not a common language in Europe, it was not so easy to learn it. But a good point was that almost every Norwegian is fluent in English. This way, it was very easy to communicate everywhere in Bergen , even in supermarkets, transports,etc... with local people.
