Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
All the exchange students were living on campus which made it a very fun place to stay. Moreover I shared a kitchen with several Norwegian students which allowed to also get to know local people.

Personal comments
The accommodation is located close to the university, however it was located outside the city center (you had to go there by bus)

Personal recommendation
I don't really have any recommendations for this university as everything was very well organised. The only thing I can think off is about the language course, they could maybe try to inscribe students who wish to follow the course before they arrive so that there won't be any problems with the class being full.

Final comments
It's really nice to visit some other Scandinavian countries while your in Norway. The Scanrail-ticket (train ticket like Interrail but the only for Scandinavian countires) is very good mean for doing that.

Personal spending habits
Norway is a very expensive country. Cost of living is much higher than in Holland. Especially nightlife (alcohol) is very expensive.

Personal comments
Norwegians have the nice habit to organise parties at home before they go out (Vorspiel) as it is cheaper (though still expensive) to buy alcohol in the stores than to buy it in the pubs or clubs.

Personal comments
I would have really liked to learn to speak Norwegian, however at the university only a basic course was offered. Beforehand I had indicated that I wanted to learn Norwegian however when I arrived there the advanced Norwegian course that was offered was already full. Therefore I could only take the basic course and as Norwegians all speak perfect English it was difficult to learn the language.
