Books are _very_ cheap. Sending stuff back home seems to be very cheap for europeans... exept for Finnish :-P

Singapore is fun but expensive. Travel to the neighbouring countries, especially the islands and spend time on the beach. Tioman, Bintan (Trikora beach), Peranthian, and Phi Phi are not to be missed. Sentosia, on the other hand, is over rated.

English was the official language in Singapore. I love their slang and their cute chinese accent.. they call it Singlish!! The English of one of my professors was really bad and this fact made me hate his course.

Very English-friendly which is no surprise since it's their official language. I will say it can be hard to understand when Singaporeans speak really fast in Singlish, but they'll naturally adjust when they're talking to you.
