Getting more international
Rudolf W
Netherlands, Graduate
, 2020
Overall
It’s located in a rather small city north in The Netherlands. The school has a really good reputation and since it merged with Stenden Hogeschool it’s also a lot bigger and more international. Since we were the European Capital op Culture in 2018, the city exploded in terms of internationalization. Courses are good, all teachers speak fluent English. Area is quite peaceful.

Great school for international people
Andrius N
Netherlands, Undergraduate
Business Studies, 2019
Overall
It was great to spend 4 years in small and cosy Leeuwarden. The quality of studies really amazed me.  I studied IBMS which is considered to be the most challenging course, however, I think that it can be easily managed if you possess some dedication and have sufficient English knowledge.

International Tourism Management NHL-Stenden
Marlies E
Netherlands, Undergraduate
Tourism, 2021
Overall
The course called International Tourism Management covers many aspects of the tourism profession. It consists of four year, which are all split up in 4 modules. During a module, a specific aspect of the tourism industry is covered. The information can be obtained during lectures, given by teachers and tourism professionals. Examples of topics are marketing, management, intercultural sensitivity and (developing) a tourism product. There is a high focus on sustainability and ethical behaviour. The way of learning is specific for this institute, as the students are split up in small groups of around 12 students. In a meeting-setting, several topics are discussed and each student has the responsibility to research a certain topic at home, which is later discussed within the group, under supervising of a teacher. The teachers are qualified and experienced in one or more aspects within the industry, and the staff is diverse regarding age, gender and cultural- and professional background. The students come from several countries, which makes the learning exerience very interesting. The campus provides facilities such as a canteen with local and international food, two study landscapes and a library. There are several meeting facilities and the building is very spacious, yet small regarding the amount of students. However, sometimes there are no sufficient study places, especially during exam period. Besides this, there is an international office, supporting international students and students who want to go abroad. Further, there is the IT centre for any problems or questions regarding ICT, and it is possible to acquire school materials. The office of Randstad provides the opportunity to find a (side) job. Further, there is the StuRa, which is a group of students, standing for all the ITM students regarding problems, new and innovative ideas, activities, etc. Several student associations are organizing activities and parties for students, making the student life in Leeuwarden better.

International Business and Languages
Erika d
Netherlands, Graduate
Business Studies, 2021
Overall
Hello! My name is Erika, and I am studying international Business and Language at the NHL university located in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands.

It is a very interesting study because of its extensive course which includes marketing, accounting, languages, logistics, entrepreneurship, and a bit of law. Having the chance to learn everything makes me very excited and willing to obtain all the knowledge considering the study especially when it is about marketing.

Due to the great teachers, workshops, trips to foreign countries such as Morocco, Spain, Finland, and many more I have learned so much about marketing. It is good for expressing the image of a company, improving accessibility, increasing brand awareness and improving sales. For no doubt this course has become one of my favourite.

The study has given me a lot of opportunity to learn many things. Now I would like to put all the knowledge in practice. Therefore, I am looking for a 6-month internship in the area of marketing or logistics. If you are or know a company who is looking for an intern please contact me.
