At home I live with my family, which eases the cost for accomodation and food. Also being in a different country gives incentive to travel around a bit more.

Rennes offers a broad line of bars and cafe's. I enjoyed exploring. Also There are lot's of cheap places to eat. My favorite thing was to travel up to Saint Malo, it is only 45 minutes from Rennes, and one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.
