I think RMIT is going through a transition period, and I am sure that in less than five years it will be a top school. When I was there I saw a lot of improvment, in the buildings, teachers, and resources, but they had a long road infront of them. It really made me apprieciate Purdue a lot more!!!

Personal comments
The teaching methods are much different than in the US and I understand that some may say they are better, but I didn't like the fact that it was unacceptable to question lectures. They also needed to upgrade there computers drastically, which they were.

Final comments
Make sure if you go to Queensland that you don't go between December and March, all it does is rain. Also Look at Brisbaine, it was a great great city to see and there is so much to do close, it is also cheeper. Also I would recommend meeting some Australian exchange students at your home school. I did and it was the single best thing I did. When I got to Melbourne I had Assie friends to show me around and a place to stay.

Personal spending habits
The Phone and food is a rip, otherwise I was there to have fun and get everything out of it that I could. So I spent a lot of money. Alchol is very expensive be forewarned. The food is weird in the fact that it is almost as expensive to eat in as it is to eat out.

Don't buy books, they are hard to sell and I only used two in a whole year. In Australia you can check them out at the Library. I had Internet banking and never opened an Aussie account and it worked beautifully, also if you need a large amount of cash you can get cash advances off a credit card from the Australian Post with no service fee. Anyways my bank never charged any intrest. I spent about USD$14,000 in 11 months

I was really lucky, and had someone I could stay with while I found a place. I was a great experience to live with an Australian.
