Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
You get to know a lot of other erasmus and local students. The interaction in the corridor where I lived was just great. It is also close to the university and via subway, to the city centre.

Unfortunately construction works were being done to the bathrooms while I was there, so we had 4 months of contruction works (with 1 month in my own bathroom), which involved waking up to construction workers coming to work at 7:30 am every week day talking very loudly in swedish. Apart from that, it was a bit boring to walk the 15 minutes to univerity, but hey, im a lazy bastard who is used to always driving.

people usually go for living in "lappis" or "kungshambra" ( close to the campus) wheras living in solna is quite far away. it is said to be hard to find a flat in stockholm

It becomes difficult if you are not helped, to get housing. It is also advisable to arrive quite early enough in order not to miss the available apartments or rooms.

it was far away from the city center and not on the campus. There was no community atmosphere even though these were rooms for students

Stockholm´s accomodation is not so easy for getting. It´s expensive. The best way is contacting with university department.

While studying at the University, Lappis is the ideal (if not only!) place to live. Large rooms, private toilet and shower, and large common space for your corridor-mates (14 per hall) to share. Cheap and VERY close to the university. If only they were a little closer to the tunnelbana (subway) too...
