Personal comments
With your students card you are also a member of youth hostels. You get also a 50 % discount for railway trips, which were really cheap and comfortable in Finland. One surprise: cellular phones are much more expansive in Finland (home of Nokia) than in Austria.

Almost everybody speaks English fluently in Finland. This might also be due to the fact that TV programm and movies are not translated.

Final comments
To travel within Finland: you can go by railway, long-distance busses or even by airplane (stand-by tickets for students under 25 years are very cheap!). To travel to GUS: Take the chance and go to St. Peterburg and Moskow! If you go through an agency, they will organise the visa and everything for you. This is much easier. To travel to the Baltic countries: It is quite cheap to rent a car there and go aroung all three countries. Wonderful trip! To travel to Sweden: Just take the ferry boat - It's also called the "party boat" ;) Finland was a great experience for me, I would not like to miss it!

The Finish Business School offers great sport activities and a gym to work out. Nightlife is great in Pravda and Theatri. Do not miss two very Finish evens: 1st of May celebrations called Vappu and midsummer (last Friday in Junde)

Personal comments
Very good organised by the host university. Very good location: near university and near city center. Around 20 exchange students lived there together, which was interessting and great. The only negative aspect was that there was no native (=Finish students) in our house.
