In 1936 the Faculty of Technology of Tartu University was transferred to Tallinn Technical College, thus establishing Tallinn Technical University (TTU) in 1938. The University consisted of civil, chemical, mechanical and manufacturing engineering. Transactions of TTU are published from 1937. In 1940 the Faculty of Economics, in 1958 the Faculty of Power Engineering and in 1965 the Faculty of Control Engineering were founded. From 1991 new programmes are being introduced offering more flexibility and choice. For this purpose, the organizational structure was reorganized.
